Trump, Farage, Mercer, And Assange Sittin’ In A Tree?
Donald Trump’s mate Nigel Farage visited the Ecuadorian embassy in London, Thursday, Buzzfeed reported, publishing a photograph of the United Kingdom Independent Party politician leaving the building. Buzzfeed reporter Marie Le Conte apparently surprised Farage as he exited the embassy from what was supposed to be a secret meeting. Le Conte asked Farage why he had visited the Ecuadorian embassy where Wikileaks curator Julian Assange has dodged extradition for sexual assault charges in Sweden since 2012. Farage responded that “he couldn’t remember” what he had been doing in the building that he was exiting after being there for 40 minutes. So Farage’s trip to the embassy where a self-made pro-Russian international saboteur is hiding was like when you open the refrigerator and stare at all your food asking yourself why you opened the fridge.
Like many Republicans, DeSantis either does not know or does not care that 73 percent of Medicaid recipients do, in fact, work, or that the whole point of medical insurance is that even “able-bodied” people like Tiffany Koehler are only “able-bodied” until they are not.Neither the current GOP plan nor the potentially harsher options waiting in the wings recognize the fundamental fact that under repeal, millions of Americans will lose insurance — a life or death prospect for thousands of people.
Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt said that there needs to be more debate about whether carbon dioxide is a primary driver of global warming and that “I would not agree that it’s a primary contributor to the global warming that we see.”
Let us be clear.1. 20 million people will lose healthcare2. The bad old days will be back3. You will be bankrupt once again from one illness4. The working poor, who got access to healthcare because of Medicaid Expansion – THEY ARE SCREWED5. Grandma and Grandpa in the nursing home paid by Medicaid-you better have a place in your house when they’re kicked out of the nursing home6. Preventive care measures – those wellness measures that have been so popular – GONE7. The subsidies which help the working class/middle class get Obamacare – GONE8. This WILL make Medicare insolvent, which folds into the plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system9. THIS IS A HUGE TAX CUT-$600 BILLION- FOR THE WEALTHY. THEY ARE TAKING AWAY FUNDS FROM THE POOR AND GIVING THEM TO THE WEALTHY.10. GOP health bill includes tax break for insurance execs making $500,000+11. Health insurance isn’t the end goal of #TrumpCare. Tax cuts for the rich is.And, for those of you who are smug, because you don’t think that Trumpcare will affect your Employer Given Healthcare?
“Rio was the biggest slave port in world history. Two million slaves arrived in this city—five times more than the entire American South. Favelas were built because the government didn’t want to provide basic services to the descendants of slaves. So these descendants were forced to build their own communities. Favelas are unregulated. They’re poorly serviced. But don’t call them ‘slums.’ That’s a lazy translation and it’s unfair to the people who live here. The word ‘slum’ implies that all favelas are the same. The word ‘slum’ ignores 120 years of improvement that these residents have made to their communities. And the word ‘slum’ makes it easier to ignore these communities. That’s exactly what the government wants. Because if favelas aren’t viewed as real neighborhoods, then their residents don’t deserve real services. So please don’t use the word ‘slum.’ Because it only helps to encourage that narrative.”(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
