What could possibly go wrong? China wants to build its own floating nuclear power plant by 2020

China is pushing full steam ahead in its mission to be as innovative as possible, floating out plans to build the country’s first floating nuclear power plant.

:D

So it’s been almost 2 weeks since my last post. I have been busy with life and trying to sound important. I have never quite understood the need for people to throw around titles or “dropping names”, it doesn’t ever really impress me and often I’m just confused as to who they are talking about. Recently I’ve worked with people that epitomize this behavior.

I hope to never actually do this myself, but I cannot stand parroting, or rather repeating the exact same ideas, either verbatim or rephrased. When you cannot critically think about things, it is clear that you don’t have a good understanding, which brings me to the faith issue. Many believers, of whatever faith/religious practice, only seem to spout what has been said on TV or what they’ve heard has been said. If you don’t have a personal relationship with your faith… I dare question that said faith, as you are only practicing someone else’s faith.
It’s not just a religious thing though, we have all seen things like the “cold bucket challenge”, made popular by celebrities, diet revolutions recommended by Oprah or whoever on TV or a magazine. When we are quick to jump on a new interest and hold no actual tie to it, we are flip floppers that will also jump wagon as soon as we joined it.
I guess my problem is the loyalty issue. If we cannot be loyal, what exactly does that say of our character? We are in general not honest in our relationships, but become incensed when we feel betrayed or if we feel someone is not honest with us. We give an “inferior” quality treatment and expect everyone to provide us with that “superior” treatment.
I’m ashamed to say that I have participated in said behavior at times when I have had nothing else to resort to, and all my efforts to be honest have been failed attempts, as nobody believes that there are real honest guys out there.
Perhaps I hide behind the mask of honesty while baring my heart for all to see, and this offends you, but I hope it doesn’t.

With Little Debate, Congress Enacts Broad Range of Immigration Changes in Spending Bill

Passed with minimal controversy and public debate, the 2016 spending bill included some of the most substantial immigration policy changes enacted by Congress in the last decade. The changes touched on aspects including temporary worker visas, visa security, and the immigration courts, and could signal a new strategy for legislative change to the immigration system.

It has been an overwhelming period of many things…

Something stopped me and took me by surprise.

My daughter Serena..

As my usual habit, I was pouring all my emotions of the experience with Nawal Saadawi and Youssef Zeedan on the kids. And of course they didn’t like it much. Of course…. Hearing the same story every ten minutes in every possible opportunity for a whole ten days. Serena is usually skeptical when she hears a man’s name. She quickly declares that she doesn’t like him and she shows disinterest. I guess my overwhelmed obsessive attitude must be suspicious as well.

Nawal wasn’t of more interest to them as well. Too much obsessiveness doesn’t convince my kids after all.

Until one day, last week, when I was watching Nawal on a YouTube of a few minutes where she was discussing her views on the veil.

Serena was caught with a…

Harlem’s Legendary Lenox Lounge Appears To Be Really, Truly Dead

Harlem's Legendary Lenox Lounge Appears To Be Really, Truly Dead There was hope for a while that Harlem’s legendary Lenox Lounge—which closed in 2012 following a rich 73 years history—would one day reopen, preserving a slice of history in an area that’s undergoing significant changes. Unfortunately, it looks as though the storied jazz bar and former speakeasy won’t be undergoing a revitalization, as plans to reopen the club look to have fallen through. Jeremiah Moss found a bleak scene during a recent visit, with the venue still boarded up and “[left]…behind to rot.” [ more › ]
