  1. Saw Buddy Guy in London a few years back…great gig though I much prefer smaller venues….like pubs! Seen some great musicians in pubs! Bars to you…yank!

    1. Have done the Menzes pu crawl in Sydney, Australia – 40 pubs in one city block – Was young an dumb at the time – three of my mates did not finish! And our champion beat the best Perth law school had to offer. A classic scene – they proposed drinking scooners and Fred pointed to the pitchers. So they chug-a-luged pitchers of ale. The Aussie champion lost half way through the second pitcher when he saw that Fred was simply pouring the ale down his throat. Grin – he had worked one summer as a sword swallower and knew the trick to just open his throat. For the next three days, Fred could not buy a beer for all that was bought for him – 😉

      I have to confess arriving in Perth at the tender age of 18….having left Swinging London..I woz horrified at wot the ozzies called pubs!
      Beer Halls full of gross Ozzie Men!! Swigging lager to their hearts content! yuk!
      You have no idea how many gay men there are in Oz. I found them quickly…oh so much better than mixing with the lager louts..so much more civilized..:(
      I did end up with a musician eventually……but thats another story 🙂
