California sheriff\’s officials and family members say deputies shot and killed a 13-year-old boy who was carrying a replica assault weapon.

Two Sonoma County deputies saw the boy walking with the replica weapon at about 3 p.m. local time Tuesday in Santa Rosa. Lt. Dennis O\’Leary says they repeatedly ordered him to drop what appeared to be a rifle before firing several rounds.

  1. Did this child aim the toy at anyone?Threaten anyone? This sounds insane, shooting a child with a toy gun? Murdering a child with a toy gun? I mean how is John Hinkley Jr, ( the man who attempted to assassinate Reagan), alive in prison but there was no other way to “protect” the public, except to murder this child?

  2. This one is just too much like a shooting I witnessed a few years back when police shot and killed a disturbed person with an air pistol – pellet gun. An execution was what I saw and this case sounds like the most extreme kind of profiling and over-reaction.
